I was introduced to this group by my good friend Ian from voulesrandom.com. it was a slow growth to me, but somehow found it’s way into my head, bringing together aspects of tech house and funk (at least in my mind), their tracks go all over the place, to each their own, but they all have that something that makes me want to dance.

Jeff Mills is the one artist that changed my whole concept of techno. it all started with this track, having the main melody stuck in my head, but the loopy drums.. Jeff Mills is the one artist that somehow makes repetition interesting to me. I would have to say his alias, “the wizzard” is quite fitting.

This track was released on a recent compelation put out by my favorite record label “boys noize records” from Berlin, after the Winter Music Conference in Miami. Aptly called “Miami Noize”. It features a previously unreleased track from each of the artists on this label. Needless to say, I can not pick a favorite, but this one hit me a little harder.

Plastikman (aka Richie Hawtin) was my first taste of old school minimal techno. His tracks have lead me to many other artists, but it all started with him. This track is one of my favorites to play and layer with other tracks.. It’s almost hard to have to let it go out of the mix.. i want to hear it go on and on, and on.
